First Impressions
Honestly, when I first pulled up to Agroturystyka Słoneczny Dom, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this four-star countryside retreat. The name translates to “Sunny House,” and you know what — it actually lives up to that cheerful promise. Set in the small village of Uniszowice, about 30 minutes from Lublin’s city center, this place feels like stepping into a different world entirely. The property has that authentic Polish countryside charm without feeling overly rustic or uncomfortable.
Location & Setting
The location is honestly one of the biggest draws here, especially if you’re traveling as a couple (guests consistently rate it highly for romantic getaways). You’re surrounded by rolling farmland and traditional Polish countryside, but you’re not completely cut off from civilization. Lublin is close enough for day trips to explore the old town and castle, but far enough that you actually feel like you’ve escaped the urban hustle. The free private parking is a real bonus — I mean, you definitely need a car to get around out here, so it’s nice not to worry about where to leave it.
The Accommodations
The rooms at Słoneczny Dom strike that perfect balance between rustic charm and modern comfort. I stayed in one of their larger rooms, and the traditional wooden furniture paired with updated amenities worked really well together. The beds are genuinely comfortable (sometimes these countryside places skimp on mattresses), and the bathrooms are clean and well-maintained. What I appreciated most was how quiet everything was — you can actually hear birds in the morning instead of traffic, which is sort of magical if you’re used to city life.
The Experience
This is where the agrotourism aspect really shines through. The owners clearly take pride in sharing their rural lifestyle with guests, and there’s something refreshing about that authenticity. You can explore the surrounding farmland, and depending on the season, there might be opportunities to participate in farm activities. The pace here is deliberately slow — perfect for disconnecting and actually relaxing. The staff speaks decent English, though brushing up on a few Polish phrases definitely helps and is appreciated by the locals.
Why Guests Love It
People keep coming back to Agroturystyka Słoneczny Dom because it offers something you can’t get in a standard hotel — genuine immersion in Polish countryside culture. The combination of peaceful surroundings, authentic hospitality, and proximity to Lublin creates this sweet spot for travelers who want both tranquility and accessibility. It’s particularly popular with couples looking for a romantic escape, and I can see why. The value is solid for a four-star property, especially considering you’re getting a unique cultural experience along with comfortable accommodations. Just remember to pack some comfortable walking shoes and maybe download some offline maps — the countryside here is beautiful, but cell service can be spotty in places.
Lublin’s hotels wrap guests in restored tenement houses, cultural district energy, and concierge-curated Old Town walking tours.

Guest Reviews
Owner unresponsive, so good luck getting in. He will not answer your questions. Animal endangerment happening in the bas
The property was decent, had everything, the kitchen was a bit meager. The heaters were not working, and when I asked the owner about turning it on, my question was ignored
What could be improved: Host was non-responsive. I drove all the way to the place, nobody there, no response from the host after I booked and sent many messages. So, I left and went to get dinner. Came back (now 9 pm), and the gate to get into the property was closed. And there is no cell service there. So I had to drive all the way back into town to find cell service to try to contact the owner again. I had booked over 3 hours before, but still absolutely no contact from the owner. I found a number where I could contact them via WhatsApp, otherwise my phone does not work outside of my country. Someone answered, only spoke Polish, so we got nowhere. Someone else called me back, spoke a bit of English, told me to go to the property. I drove back, and they had the one other man who was staying there as a guest open the gate for me. Later the owner finally showed up. Ridiculous. If you’re going to run a business, you need to be in communication with people, especially when it’s getting late and bookings are non-refundable. Of course Booking.com doesn’t respond to any feedback, whatsoever. The place is also quite far out. I was the only female staying there, with one other body builder guy (the one who let me in), and possibly someone else, as there was another car there. In the morning someone tried to open my door (it was locked). No knock or anything. Maybe it was the cleaning person? It made me very uncomfortable. To top it off, there was a basement, where you could see into through the window and glass door, where there were a whole bunch of cats and kittens in there, who would all run up to me at the door and window, scratching at it, begging to get out. I don’t know if they had food or water, but nobody was taking care of them and it was awful.
A lesson learned.
The room is clean and big enough. Bathroom clean and big enough. (safe) Parking very big.
What could be improved: Direct connected with a (locked) door wasa room next to us. No sound isolation. The people (man) who rented that room had a kind of party. Very very loud. Luckily he stopped short before midnight. Whole night we could hear him snoaring. Very loud. Also very late people were moving chairs etc. at the upper floor. The kitchen which could be shared by the guest is very big and has a lot of usefull equipment. Unfortunately the guests had a low level of hygiëne. There were many refrigerators but not really clean. The owner for sure tries his best to offer rooms and space. Problem is the behaviour and hygiene of the guests. Sound isolation: No.
Wonderful
Comfortable beds, calm place, not far from lublin castle
What could be improved: I want more kitchen tools
Pleasant
Friendly staff. The hotel is located not far from the highway and it is very convenient for travelers.
What could be improved: The bathroom door didn't close, the handle was broken. The dishes in the shared kitchen were very dirty.

The apartments are located in a quiet area of the city. The room has a balcony.
It is advisable to use a car to visit the city center, as the distance is quite large.
